The Benefits of Cannabidiol

There are many benefits of Cannabidiol, but before we dive into the topic, some context needs to be provided to paint a clearer picture of this point of discussion. Since California first legalized medical marijuana in 1996, the use of the cannabis plant for medical treatment has been subsequently legalized in a further 29 states.

As the use of medical marijuana becomes increasingly normalized and accessible, it is important for consumers to become familiar with the industry and the options available.

One treatment option that is often forgotten is the use of Cannabidiol (CBD), which is extracted from the hemp plant and not from of marijuana.

The compounds extracted from both hemp and marijuana plants are molecularly identical and offer the same benefits, but Cannabidiol from Hemp oil is already legalized across the United States. Cannabidiol also offers a treatment opportunity to those who do not have access to legalized medicinal marijuana.

Cannabidiol is Completely Non-Psychoactive

When considering the benefits of Cannabidiol, it is important to be aware that it is a natural compound found in the hemp plant. Unlike the most common compound (THC), Cannabidiol is completely non-psychoactive. This means that it will not cause a ‘high’ like the one resulting from THC, making it a safer and non-addictive option for any consumer.

While THC has been cited as the source of the positive outcomes related to using medical marijuana, scientists have found that Cannabidiol can similarly combat ailments currently treated with THC.

Additionally, within the scope of the benefits of Cannabidiol, there have been studies using Cannabidiol as an alternative treatment option for common diseases and disorders that have standard pharmaceutical treatment paths.

The pharmaceutical industry has never been stronger and has established a monopoly on the treatment of a variety of medical issues including things like Psychoactive Disorders and Parkinson’s. However, after years of research, the use of Cannabidiol treatment methods are expanding. This is great news as it offers an alternative to those forgotten by the health industry.

Cannabidiol is Anti-Psychotic

Cannabidiol has been proven to be effective as a natural antipsychotic. Studies have proven that Cannabidiol helps manage the symptoms of many psychological disorders, including;

  • Anxiety
  • Major Depression
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Cannabidiol chemically affects the brain similarly to the mainstream SSRI (Zoloft, Prozac, Xanax, etc.) pharmaceutical drugs used to treat these psychoactive disorders. Like SSRI medication, Cannabidiol helps to increase the levels of serotonin in the brain, creating relief from many anxiety-based symptoms.

While many patients respond well to formal treatment, common antipsychotic medications can have extreme and potentially deadly side effects. These medications can also be physically addictive or sedative, greatly impacting everyday life.

Having the option to choose a natural alternative to traditional treatment options benefits those who have been subject to the negative outcomes surrounding Big-Pharma medications.

Cannabidiol has been proven to have negligible side effects for its users. Because it does not contain the THC compound, it is also non-addictive. Overall, Cannabidiol is a less expensive, more natural way to tackle these chronic disorders.

The Benefits of Cannabidiol and Parkinson’s Disease

Scientists have also studied Cannabidiol’s  positive effects in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. A study conducted on mice in 2015 showed that Cannabidiol effectively protected the neurons that are degenerating during the progression of the disease.

Those treating their Parkinson’s with Cannabidiol treatment have reported things like a decrease in tremors, improvement in digestion, and regulated sleep cycle. Most importantly, Cannabidiol has the ability to act as an antioxidant, allowing it to protect the body from the harmful chemicals and side effects associated with traditional medications.

In combination with the positive antipsychotic effects associated with Cannabidiol, this alternative or additional treatment is groundbreaking for those suffering from this debilitating disease.

Cannabidiol; A New Frontier

Cannabidiol’s impact on Psychoactive Disorders and Parkinson’s disease is a small sample of the positive impact the Cannabidiol compound has had in a wide-range of diseases and disorders.

Cannabidiol is quickly becoming a viable option for mainstream treatment of chronic disorders because of it’s a non-addictive, natural quality. While Cannabidiol extracted from the marijuana plant is still illegal in many areas of the United States, the compound extracted from the Hemp plant is already widely available.

This natural alternative will continue to help release pharmaceutical chemical dependency, and help diversify the types of care available.

Vegetables and fruits also contain lots of nutrients that help in the detoxification process. When choosing the source of dietary fibre, you should consider vegetables or breakfast cereal. You can also take supplements to help with the detox process that includes B vitamin, activated charcoal, psyllium husk and magnesium. The supplements don’t mask the THC found in the system, but they help with the natural detox process. They also add colour to the urine.

What is the Best Detox for THC?

THC stands for Tetrahydrocannabinol and is cannabinoid. This is the prime psychoactive part of cannabis and has been a large part of society for longer than we can really identify. Even with it being so commonly used throughout history, it can still be an addictive substance. In a world where we are becoming increasingly aware of natural and healthy living, detoxing from substances is a popular thing for people to do. So, what is the best detox for THC?  Well, read on to find out!

When you’re trying to detox from THC, it is important to remember there are numerous factors that come into play with the levels of THC in your body. As THC attaches itself to the fatty tissue within the body, it isn’t simply a case of when you last smoked cannabis. The length of use, how often you use, the amount you use and the strength of the cannabis all increase the length of time that THC will stay in the body. Detoxing from prolonged use of THC can take much longer than after a week of regular usage.

Are you looking for ways to detox from marijuana? Whether you want to pass a drug test or clean yourself up, there are several methods that can help speed up the process. Keep in mind that cannabis can stay in the system much longer than any other substances.

Natural Detox for THC

What is the best detox for THC? For a natural detox, the best tactic is to drink lots of water, eat healthy whole foods and exercises. As with any other form of detox, drinking lots of water will help to flush the drugs out of your system. It has been recommended that we drink one litre of water for every 22 kilograms (48.5 Pounds) of body weight. Water is a key part of detoxing naturally.

There are also detox drinks on the market that act to dilute the amount of THC in the bloodstream. This is essentially the same logic as drinking lots of water, however, they are often laced with laxatives and diuretics.

Exercise will also help to push everything through your system much faster, as the sweat you produce when you exercise will help remove toxins from the skin. When exercising the body, you also exercise the organs, the digestive system gets a gentle massage which in turn encourages the body to eliminate waste by having a bowel movement. Staying hydrated during exercise is really important.

Another way of increasing the output of bodily fluids (and the drugs attached to them) is to go and sit in the sauna. While this might not be as effective and as quick as exercising, it certainly sounds much more appealing.

As THC attaches itself to fat particles, it can also be good to remove as much fat from your body as possible. Healthy eating and exercise will burn fat and you’ll remove those toxins a little quicker.

Answering the question; "What is the Best Detox for THC?"

As THC is such a difficult drug to detox from, due to the nature in which it reacts to fat, it is important to be highly dedicated to detoxing and use the above methods in a combination. The more frequently you detox, and the less frequently you use THC, the faster THC will leave your body.

Detoxing from THC is usually intended to be a long term thing. When asking “what is the best detox for THC?”, you should decide in advance if you are going to use THC again. If the answer is yes, keeping track of your usage will help you to know how much you need to detox in the future.

How Long Does Weed Stay In Your Urine?

So you’ve got a pressing question that you need an answer for and no one seems to be able to provide the response you need. How long does weed stay in your urine? There are a number of factors to consider in the answer to that question which we will explore. But first we need to really understand what it is about weed that shows up in a drug test.

What Is THC?

Given that you are here to find the answer to your question ‘How long does weed stay in your urine?’ you probably already know quite a bit about THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and it’s effects. THC, a cannabinoid, has a long history and has had a place in society for a lot  longer than it has been identified as a problem by some Governments and become the focal point for control, and in some cases, attempts at eradication.

Cannabinoids potentially number in the hundreds with THC being the most widely known at this point. The isolation of THC as achieved by Raphael Mechoulam in 1964, in Israel, was the birthplace of cannabis research and has branched out into much further fields than Raphael may have envisaged.

Cannabinoids are understood to be a part of the constitutive natural, or biotic, defense systems of the plants they are found in. Similar to the sting on some arachnids and insects, or the bright colours on some animals that visually express ‘danger’ to predators, cannabinoids are believed to help the plants fend off herbivores, parasites and pests.

Although cannabinoids are believed to not play a primary role with regard to photosynthetic and metabolic activities in the function of the plant, when you consider that they are understood to be a part of the defense system, they are a very close second in that they play a part in the survival of the species.

Detox and Cure - What is the Best Detox for THC

What Detox Works Quickest for Marijuana?

Are you looking for ways to detox from marijuana? Whether you want to pass a drug test or clean yourself up, there are several methods that can help speed up the process. Keep in mind that cannabis can stay in the system much longer than any other substances.

How does THC affect the brain?

THC as a cannabinoid connects very easily with the cannabinoid receptors found primarily in the human brain. Cannabinoid receptors normally interact with the body’s naturally produced cannabinoids, which THC is extremely similar to as a molecular structure. This results in the present THC entering in the place of the body’s natural chemicals and interfering with how the brain functions.

The human body naturally produces in the cannabinoid system what are called endocannabinoids (chemicals such as anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol) which play specific roles in how we function. Endocannabinoids are involved in a number of psychological processes including mood, memory, sensation (pleasure and pain), and appetite.

What happens is the brain passes messages from neuron to neuron through connections between what are known as transmitters and receptors.

Imagine that the neurons in your brain are separated from each other  by a gap, a bit like two Bluetooth devices, say a mobile phone and a car radio. When there is interference between the two devices in the signal being sent and received, the transmission is not stable and the connection can be dropped, or the message lost.

THC attaches to the cannabinoid receptors instead of anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol and causes the transmission of the messages from neuron to neuron to be interfered with, effectively changing the behavior of the neurons and the outcome of the messages being sent and received.

Other species, such as birds, reptiles, fish and mammals also have cannabinoid receptors. When THC binds to a cannabinoid receptor the relationship is a lot like that between a key and a lock.

You may be thinking that the cannabinoid receptors are exclusively designed to work with cannabinoids, like THC. When you look at the words cannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors and their being seemingly intuitively connected through their similarity that is understandable, however, that actually is not the case.

How long does THC stay in the body?

The logical connection between the question ‘Can I detox from THC?’ and ‘How log does weed stay in your urine’ is best considered with a number of factors. THC does break down, but it is also understood to be a cumulative substance that builds up in the fat cells of the body. Experts believe that the factors which play a part in the accumulation of THC in the body include:

  • How long have you been consuming THC?
  • How frequently are you consuming THC?
  • What is the strain or potency of the THC you are consuming?

The longer you have been consuming THC for, the frequency of your consumption and the higher the potency or stronger the strain the greater the anticipated accumulation and subsequent time required to breakdown the existing THC stored in your body.

Reports suggest that first time consumers of THC can return a negative result on a drug test or drug screen after as little as four days. More frequent users of stronger strains or potency can still have traces of THC on their system for months after stopping their consumption of THC.

When you are considering the answer to your question ‘How long does weed stay in your urine?’ and wondering about the time frame in order to effectively detox from THC, you are able to detox from THC but the time frame may be a bit difficult to measure as this is currently not an exact science. In our next post we will look at some of the strategies you could implement to detox from THC.
