Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe, Spice Mixes, and Herb Blends

There are a number of Spice Mixes and Herb Blends that we suggest in our recipes. They are so versatile and easy, we figured that we would make them available to you for extra reference. Feel free to change them up a bit by adding them to different recipes.

Spice Mixes and Herb Blends

Spice Mixes and Herb Blends are essential when cooking. But getting the combinations right can sometimes be a bit tricky. Here are a few of our frequently used combinations that you can make yourself at home.

Italian Herbs

This makes about 40g of Italian herbs.

Combining the following ingredients together and storing in a jar.

  • 2 tablespoon dried basil
  • 2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Moroccan Seasoning

This makes about 45g of Moroccan Seasoning.

Sift the following ingredients and mix together before transferring into a jar for storage.

  • 1 tablespoon Ground Coriander
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon mild paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon black pepper

This Moroccan Seasoning blend goes really well in any Tagine, vegetable blend, and even couscous.

Savory Dukkah

This recipe makes about 1 cup of Dukkah.

Combining the following ingredients together and storing in a jar.

  • 1/3 cup roughly chopped almonds or hazelnuts
  • 1/2 cup roughly chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons raw white sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt

Mexican Seasoning

This makes about 45g of Mexican Seasoning.

Sift the dry ingredients to remove any lumps. Combining and mix the following ingredients together and storing in a jar.

  • 1 Teaspoon of Black Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons of Chilli
  • 1 Teaspoon of Coriander
  • 1 Tablespoons of Garlic Powder
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Ground Cumin
  • 1 Tablespoons of Onion Powder or flakes
  • 1 Teaspoon of Oregano
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Smokey Paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper

This Mexican Seasoning blend goes really well in all things Mexican, of course. If you live in a humid climate you might need to take care with how you store this as it can draw moisture and clump a little.

Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe

This makes about 45 g of Pumpkin Pie Spices

Sift the dry ingredients to remove any lumps. Combining and mix the following ingredients together and storing in a jar.

  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 Teaspoon All Spice
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cloves

Iconic, and known by those who love this dish, our pumpkin pie spice recipe pops with the taste of holidays and happiness.
